Meeting Called to Order at 7:00PM
The accounts payable listing was reviewed and approved for payment. Several questions were presented and satisfactory answers were provided by the fiscal officer.
Review of March Financial Statements
The Financial Statement review indicates that revenues were significantly less than last year. 2012 RITA revenues were approx.. 150k vs. 336k last year. Adjusting for a one time item last year we are still 50k down from last year. In addition, after the first quarter we are 147k below the 2012 budget. At this point the Finance committee original recommendation of revenues appears to be more in line what we can expect for the year than the current budget.
Expenses were generally in line with budget. We have enjoyed a $20,000 decrease in our insurance premium due to the settlement of various lawsuits. This is getting us back to the levels previous to the legal problems.
Caution is recommended regarding discretionary expenditures as we move forward.
We discussed the new safety policy and the availability of training for the Service Department employees.
A new copying machine will be brought in for evaluation in the upcoming weeks.
We also discussed the elimination of paper for the various reports and council related materials. Further discussion and options will be presented at future meetings.
